Fandom Frustrations...

If you're part of LJ and you found out about the "Subbers Meme" and read all the stuff about STORMY or SBK you can guess what I will be talking about. If not, it's fine. I just need to let off some steam. Mind you this isn't complaints against the subbers and I'm not trying to offend anyone, I really just need to let off some steam about this entire situation. It's stupid in my opinion. (-_-;;)

I guess.. I don't really get why people are complaining. I mean a lot of people are saying STORMY is being "elite" by not letting people in or having to answer "essays" but.. I don't know. When I saw there new rules come out I was a bit annoyed but then sort of shrugged and was like "whatever, guess I'll do it" and I really didn't see the problem. It only took about.. a minute of my time. Literally. Yes even answering the "essay" didn't take more than 30 seconds. Why should't it? I wrote a paragraph. Wait.. where is this essay we're getting at? Maybe if you're new, than yes that might be a hard question to answer and it could be frustrating but hey if you want some help Here you go!! =D

So yes, for the application for STORMY.. I don't see what "essay" you have to write. "What makes Arashi Arashi" use as many words as you want. You can write a fricken SENTENCE. No. Seriously. Where does it say write an ESSAY? o_o I wrote a paragraph. 5 sentences. Not that hard, took about 30 seconds and bam, done, comment over. If you got rejected than yeah.. that sucks.. no offense. Get over it? I know this might not help coming from someone who did get in (shoot me =D) but.. if I didn't get in, I doubt I'd be moping, and complaining about it. Sure, maybe a one liner in my LJ update "STORMY rejected me.. T.T *sobs*" and okay, that's done and over with. Oh dear, I have no access to subbed videos now... hmm... wait! I forgot, there are like.. 14 other Arashi subbing teams out there =O *GASP* Okay, they are the only group subbing "Smile" but considering they are 4 episodes behind... I don't really think I'm missing out... No. Really. Oh. Also. I can't understand Japanese and I hate watching RAW. I'm not crying that much about missing subtitles. I just figure, no subs, no watch.

Fine, you can get mad, and freedom of speech of course but you know. It's been a while. That subbers meme was supposed to let everyone rant and rave and be pissed and than after everyone can just shut the hell up. Obviously that did not happen and people are still seen complaining and blah and blah and it's just like "My god people, get over with it..."

By the way, I did pull into account that I might be feeling this way because hey, I actually got in (first try in both SBK and STORMY and damn it was easy..) but then I thought about it some more and I really. I don't think I'd care so much. I'm very... apathetic about many things. As a fangirl... as a person in the JE fandom I find I never get caught up in all the drama that occurs inside of it. Or.. I never feel as strongly for anything as every else does. Oh, I also realized that the reason I've only been seeing complaints is that.. what the hell is the point of complaining if you get in right?

Oh and yes. I have no life. So that is indeed why I posted this. Because I have no life. *sobs for myself*
I am always aware that I may seem immature, well... I am at that age where my immaturity level supposedly resembles that of a "stupid 14-year-old"... *hinthint*  =D

Anyways, I think that is enough "letting of steam" for one day. As always, feel free to agree, disagree, insult, bash, mentally scar...

and I know I haven't posted in a while, so sorry the first thing had to be a rant (>_<;;)

[Anime Review] Tekkon Kinkreet

Ninomiya Kazunari as Kuro

Honestly, I would never have heard about this anime if it wasn't for Nino, who was a voice actor in it but I honestly love this movie a lot. At first, when I just started watching, I honestly thought I was on drugs. I've never seen an anime with this style of art (although my sister says it's become quite a popular style) and I love it. I really like the style, I thought it was so interesting and different. ^^

On to the actual story of the movie. It was good. The actual story is about two boys named Kuro and Shiro who try to protect their town (Treasure Town) from being changed into an Amusement Park by a bunch of Yakuza. It doesn't sound very interesting does it? But the actual anime itself has many themes to it and in my opinion it's quite a deep story that involves many things about life which I found intriguing. The characters themselves I also loved. Shiro more than Kuro actually.

Kuro and Shiro, like their names, are opposites. While Kuro is a violent, dark anti-hero, Shiro is a pure and innocent child. The story shows how these two, together are one complete pair. Effectively showing how everyone is a mix of good and bad, pure and tarnished. Their relationship in the anime is touching and I nearly cried when Shiro was stabbed and sent to the hospital.

The story also had many other themes such as how things change whether you want them to or not, and to a smaller level the importance of friendship, or having love and being loved by someone.

Towards the end, the last 15 minutes or so I was actually a bit terrified. The parts with "The Minotaur" which is basically Kuro's "dark side" the side without Shiro. The being that Kuro would become if he threw Shiro away for good and in all honestly, I nearly got a headache watching because it was so vivid.

The ending made me smile. To see Kuro smile so happily and just jump into the water. ^^ It made me happy.

I applaud Nino's voice acting, he did a wonderful job.

and finally. Final note. I really do love this anime movie, and not just because Nino was in it. (Look at my list of dramas, you'll realize if I don't like something, whether it has an Arashi member or not I will not finish it). It has many themes and they showed those themes in really interesting ways. Also some analogies they used in this anime were just.. they were interesting. I liked them. I found the entire movie intriguing. It seems like a very straight-forwardish drama but honestly it's a bit physchological in a way and I love things that have to do with your mind. Not a straight forward movie at all, in fact it's very abstract. Definitely a great watch in my opinion.

Ratings: 5/5

Nino's Butai

Wow... Nino's doing a butai this summer o_o That's a surprise
I won't be able to see it though.. T.T
aww.... oh well, hope someone will to make reviews.
Nino live acting must be interesting since he's such a good actor ^^

Title: 見知らぬ乗客」 - Mishiranu Joukyaku
(Strangers on a Train)
Date: July 18th to August 11th
Where: Tokyo Globe

Don't know the story yet... but apparently there is a novel with the same name. I wonder if it's the same story or it's just a coincidence?

if you'd like to check it out read the wiki article here.

The story in the novel seems quite interesting... It'd actually be pretty interesting as a stage play too IMO ^^

Arashi Mario King Battle [SPOILERS]

No more reading beyond this if you don't want to find out who won. *laughs*
...

..........

...

...........

ok.

NINO!!

HOW COULD YOU LOSE?! >_<

Arashi's resident "gamer" *laughs* I wasn't really surprised that MatsuJun and Nino were the last ones remaining and seriously, watching them play Super Mario so ... well. was just. O_O You know. They're both turning 26 soon and they can still play the game like it was just yesterday *laughs*

Poor Nino, I think they purposely stuck him so he always had to fight with Koopa (Bowser). Ah well. Yay for Jun!! =D

I should've expected Jun to win, Nino winning was too obvioius ya know xD But it was fun watching them play games, one of the commentors said they looked like two brothers and it was so true. Two brothers playing video games, they reminded me of my cousins

ah.. too bad, I couldn't watch them playing Street fighter.... *sniffs*

Arashi + Games?

I. Am. SO. Happy.

Like... oh my god. I love Super Mario Brothers, the classic SNES version SO much. Like.. oh, so much love. And to see Arashi playing it? Like.. oh my god. *hyperventilating* And we get to see Nino's kick-ass gaming skills for once *dies*

but you know.. watching them play Super Mario is nice and all but better yet..?

I GET TO SEE THEM PLAYING STREETFIGHTER!!! My life is complete. No joke. I love Streetfighter, it's an awesome game. And to see Arashi play it? HOLY CRAP. *dies* Ohno, Nino, Jun, you three guys just made my ENTIRE week. I cannot wait until Thursday

*prays the week goes by freakishly fast*

Yeah. I'm hella happy right now xD *laughs* I ... well, I used to be a pretty avid gamer, but I don't really like new games these days. That's why I'm so excited that they're playing old games instead. ^^ I like the old games a lot more. =D

THURSDAY COME REALLY REALLY REALLY FAST DAMN IT!!!
